Clare collaborated with ceramicist Heather Levine on a series of pieces celebrating nature’s nighttime pollinators. Clare finds a helpful lesson in the actions of moths and bats searching out night-blooming flowers and light sources. Observing their nocturnal dances reminded her to look for beauty and light in the human darkness. To celebrate this idea, Heather created flower vases, elegant candelabras, and table lamps out of clay, and Clare used underglazes and carving to express her fragile heroes’ inspiring actions. They showed this work in a beautiful garden in the early evening hours so the living pollinators could also attend. The show sold out.
